Learn about what your child will be expected to do on their upcoming Regents Examination in English by sitting in on your child's Regents Presentations!

WHERE: CSIHSIS (Room 215 B with Ms. Prevosti)
WHY:
On Tuesday, January 22, 2008 and Wednesday, January 23, 2008 your child will take the Regents Examination in English. This is a two day exam which s/he must pass in order to graduate. As part of a two month integrated review for the exam, students are researching and creating projects that explore the four parts of this two day test. This opportunity to spend time in with your child in his/her class will be informative and fun for all. Digression:
I have the ACE application, but I haven't heard anyone else talking about it. Maybe advisors could announce it to students because it seems that some are unaware that there is such a program coming on Monday Nov 19 at 4:00.
I knew they were coming back - but they did not tell me what date they would be starting. Can you prepared a handout/invite to students - simply detailing what ACE is, where the meetings will take place, when, etc!!!
I made a handout and will give it to you on Thursday when I get back from the trip.
Thanks to Ms. Prevosti for organizing this informative day. As I sat in on two classes with a number of parents, I too learned a lot of the English Language Arts Regents Exam as well as some important tips for success. It is always fun to see how our students use their imaginations, creativity and ingenuity to present information. Student projects included blogs, websites, posters with written and visual representations, tablets like commandments, etc. It was a pleasure to see our parents in their children's classes. Thank you Mr. Fontana, Ms. Pepitone, Ms. DeFelice, and Mr. and Mrs. Cifu. To anyone I did not mention, please accept my apologies. Thanks again to Heather Prevosti for helping to make parents true partners in their children's education.
